The official Super Smash Bros. Brawl Web site revealed a new roster
addition in the form of Pokemon Trainer as part of today's update.
The Pokemon Trainer gives commands from the background while his three Pokemon - Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard - directly battle opponents. The character's Down Special Move, called Pokemon Change, will swap out the on-field Pokemon for another in a set order.
All of the Pokemon share the same damage meter, but they also each have a stamina stat. "If you keep fighting with the same Pokemon, or if you change them out too often, it's not so good for the Pokemon," added Director Masahiro Sakurai.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl is planned for a December 3 release in the Americas. The game is expected to launch in other territories within a similar time frame.
