Web site Games Radar recently provided new details, courtesy of the Official PlayStation Magazine, regarding Manhunt 2. Scheduled for a Wii release this summer, Manhunt 2 will be the first Wii title from Rockstar Games.
According to Games Radar, Manhunt's protagonist James Earl Cash will not have a role in the sequel. Also missing will be The Director (originally portrayed by actor Brian Cox of the films X2, Manhunter, and Super Troopers), his CCTV station, and the gangs that roamed Carcer City. Manhunt 2's story revolves around Dr. Daniel Lamb, a scientist locked in a private asylum by an organization who call themselves The Project. The Project are shady backers of a top secret drugs-based weapons program that Lamb was once associated with. After escaping the asylum with psychotic inmate Leo Kasper, players will be forced to hunt The Project using the brutal cat-and-mouse style gameplay from the original Manhunt.
As in the first Manhunt, kills come in three forms: Hasty, Violent and Gruesome. For Manhunt 2, players will also be able to kill using the environment (such as pushing an enemy face-first into a live fuse box) and guns (for stealth kills). Additionally, Lamb will have the abilites to climb and crawl - which weren't included in the original Mahunt - as well as exploit ambient noises to confuse enemies and keep attention away from himself. When hiding in shadows, players wil be able to regulate Lamb's breathing to prevent him from being heard by approaching enemies.
