Speaking with media site IGN, Elebits Producer Shingo Mukaitoge revealed the first details about his new game, Dewy's Adventure -- a Wii-exclusive action-platformer. For Dewy's Adventure (working title), Mukaitoge has enlisted the service of Elebit's illustrator to create a similar lighthearted presentation and storyline. The game takes place in a fairytale world that has been overcome by the evil Don Hedron and his Dark Water. As a last resort, the Elder Tree creates Dewey, a special droplet of water who must save his world. ![]() View more images for Dewy's Adventure in The Wiire's media section. The D-pad will heat up or cool down Dewey, which will help players achieve goals. Although Mukaitoge refrained from disclosing full details about this ability, he gave the example that Dewey becomes a cloud of steam when heated, at which point the droplet can strike enemies with lightning. Moving the Wii Remote in a fanning motion creates gusts of wind while shaking it side to side initiates earthquakes. These moves, in addition to ones being kept secret, will be used to solve environmental puzzles and combat enemies. According to Mukaitoge, his personal 30-member team has been working on Dewy's Adventure for more than a year now. The game's producer also noted that much emphasis has been given to the graphics technology. "We are very proud to say that we have implemented normal mapping in Dewy's Adventure," Mukaitoge said. Dewy's Adventure will support 16x9 widescreen and WiiConnect24, though the team hasn't decided on 480p inclusion yet. The title is also expected to feature a level editor and multiplayer mode. Regarding the latter Mukaitoge said, "We are trying to make a four-player multiplayer mode, but if it proves too difficult, it may end up being only two players. We are going to be making stages specifically for multiplayer, rather than having players unlock the single-player levels for the multiplayer mode." Dewy's Adventure is scheduled for a 2007 release.
