New Wario Land Shake Details Emerge

By Skylar Wilcox / May 29, 2008
Just yesterday we reported that Wario Land Shake and Fatal Frame IV had been confirmed by Nintendo.  Already new details on both games have been revealed.

First, the game we know more about: Wario Land Shake.  Apparently the game is a side scroller with 2D art, and is played by holding the Wii Remote sideways.  The titular "Shake" comes from, you guessed it, shaking the Remote to perform different actions.  You can also tilt the Remote to either side to control vehicles.  The game promises 20 different levels in a variety of settings.

A new high-res 2D platformer is a very pleasant surprise, especially from Nintendo.  It seems like the kind of game we'd find on WiiWare, but for now it appears to be a regular retail game.  A Japanese magazine scan is below, courtesy of neo2046 at NeoGAF.  Click the thumbnail to see a full-sized version.

Now onto the game we know less about: Fatal Frame IV.  It looks to be faithful to the "Japanese girls in haunted house" concept, using the Nunchuk to move and the Remote pointer to aim a flashlight.  Another of neo2046's scans is below.  Same deal as the first one.
