Talk about David versus Goliath... a small East Texas gaming company named Anascape, Ltd. managed to wrangle 21 million dollars out of giant old Nintendo of America in an ongoing lawsuit since 2006.
Apparently Nintendo infringed on Anascape's patent in the designs for the GameCube controller, WaveBird, and Wii Classic. Fortunately, no infringement was found with Wii's unique Remote/Nunchuck control scheme, according to Nintendo spokesman Charlie Scibetta.
While talking to Associated Press, Scibetta mentioned that Nintendo will seek an appeal in order to significantly reduce the reward.
