Would you believe that Shigeru Miyamoto is a huge fan of First Person Shooters? It's true. The latest entry of the Iwata Asks series sees Nintendo President Satoru Iwata interviewing Miyamoto about the origins of Link's Crossbow Trainer for the Wii
Miyamoto waxes nostalgic on how he originally proposed that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time be in the First Person Perspective. Obviously that never came into fruition, but when a member of the Zelda dev team cobbled together a prototype Wii Zapper out of the Wii Remote, Nunchuk, and some rubber bands, the mad scientist trapped within Miyamoto bubbled back to the surface.

Cue the Link's Crossbow Trainer development montage. What kind of direction should we take, Miyamoto-san? Well, how about something involving time-traveling -- to the future! You know, like in Terminator!
I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried. The worst part? I like the idea. Madness! Read the interview, kids.
